A Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation branch in the San Antonio, Texas area partnered with the American Warrior Initiative (AWI) to honor a local U.S. veteran with a service dog. Along with a donation, a residential housing “Boot Camp” was held to train real estate professionals and mortgage planners on how to excellently handle the home purchase needs of active duty military members and veterans.
The honoree at the event was U.S. Army combat veteran Thomas Brinch, a SPC who suffered a traumatic brain injury while serving the United States in Afghanistan. Local Fairway Independent Mortgage branches and the AWI honored Thomas with a service dog named Thunder who is now in training at Operation K9 in San Antonio to learn how to best help Thomas.
Matt Hemberger, the sales manager for The Wood Group of Fairway in New Braunfels, Texas, was honored to be involved in such a fantastic event. He said,
“We sure love doing mortgages. But this is the stuff that keeps us grateful, humble and striving for more ways to give back.”
Co-founded by Louise Thaxton and Sean Parnell, the American Warrior Initiative is a non-profit organization sponsored by Fairway Independent Mortgage. The AWI seeks to ease U.S. veterans’ transition from military to civilian life.
I am proud to work for a company that does so much to honor those who sacrifice for our country. If I can help answer any questions about VA loans or any other home loan options, give me a call.Tags: Veterans
